Imagine the consumer up early in the morning still in their pyjamas, thinking of work and breakfast, or later on at night after a good day, bad day or boring day at work. They will see your envelope on the floor, groan inwardly at another piece of junk mail but still open it in case, that free prize is something worth having, or maybe they have won a weekend away.

This part is called creating ATTENTION

Once they open the letter, you will need to hit them with a headline that will generate a discussion in their mind, for example

Do You Sleep Well at Night ? Worried About Your Kids Tuition Fees ?

Rather than make a bland statement about what you are selling/promoting you are asking a question that a lot of people may be able to identify with.

They may well ask themselves,

No I don’t sleep well at night. It’s noisy outside, my back aches, I have a restless mind.

In the case of tuition fees, How will I pay for my kids education ?

You have done the first step and created Attention, not only are they attentive but they are thinking about the topic. Here are some tips for a headline

1. Create an Attention Grabbing Headline

2. Place it in the Center of the page

3. Use a Large Font, in Bold and choose a Dynamic Color

Ok so you have your customers attention, you can now grab that chain of thought and create further interest.

This part is called creating INTEREST

Is life moving at a quicker pace these days ? are jobs changing to fast ?

No wonder you have trouble sleeping at night. In this fast changing world where one day something is good for you the next day it’s bad, no wonder you can’t sleep.

As you can see we’ve created attention, then added a little further interest, so that you have the customers attention and they hopefully agree with you and now you can create the desire for your product.

This part is called DESIRE

Well we have discovered a herbal remedy/exercise equipment/self help book which will guarantee you the kind of sleepless nights you used to enjoy many years ago.

Points to Be Aware of :

1. Always make the customer feel like a friend and use a simple language devoid of slang terms or complicated words. It’s like you are two friends sat beside a river on a sunny day, "Hey Jon do you know what I heard the other day, no what was that James"

2. List the benefits of your offer. How will you make their life better, why is your product the best

3. Don’t forget to control both Question and Answer, no Yes and No answers

Then List the benefits :

1. Wake up feeling refreshed

2. A calmer mind and body

3. More Focus at work

Once you have listed your benefits then back them up with evidence. Your customer has read this far, their attention has been caught, they are interested and they can see the benefits but there could be just a bit of doubt so best to back up quickly with solid evidence in the shape of

1. A testimonial, Now I sleep like a baby…

2. Clinical tests prove that…

3. A recent survey of…

Now that they are confident of the product you can remind them why you are the best.

1. This price is unbeatable or your money back

2. We source the finest organic extracts

3. Our interest rate is the best on the high street

Finally finish off with a BOLD, clear value statement

Our Herbal Products are the highest quality and best value around.

You will not be disappointed.

Thank You
